Update August 21, 2021

Reno Improv is committed to a theater experience that is as safe as it is enjoyable for our audiences, performers, students, crew, and volunteers. Our COVID-19 protocols are based on guidance from health authorities and established best practices for performance venues. Our Board and show management teams monitor the situation daily, and may make changes to our policies or our programming at any time, with or without notice. Updates will be posted to this page.

Proof of vaccination is required to enter the theater

Vaccination against COVID-19 is the most impactful way to avoid catching and spreading the virus, and keeping spaces like Reno Improv safe and open for everyone.

Effective Monday, August 30, all participants and attendees at events held in our theater will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and to show proof of their vaccination upon entry.  People are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or 14 days after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine. We are very concerned with safety of our staff, performers and audience members and because of that we strongly encourage all patrons also get the COVID booster vaccine before visiting us.

This policy applies to:
  • Show audience members
  • Students in our training program classes and workshops
  • Participants in our House Team Program
  • Teachers, coaches, performers, crew, and volunteers (a vaccine requirement for these individuals has already been in effect since June 5)

When you arrive at the theater, please be prepared to show your vaccine card to a Reno Improv staff member.  If for any reason you are unable or do not wish to show proof of your vaccination against COVID-19, please contact us as soon as possible so we can cancel your tickets or class registration and refund your payment.

  • Masks are required in our theater when the Washoe County Community Level is Medium or High.
  • Masks are recommended when the Washoe County Community Level is Low.
  • The mask requirement applies to all events, including shows, classes and rehearsals.
  • Performers may remove their masks while performing on stage.

Please visit the Washoe County COVID-19 Fast Facts dashboard for more information about the current Community Level.
